Where Life is But a Work of Art

Amber Kline (A.K.A Kankaru Kalantu)

Amber L Kline is a northern girl, born in Pennsylvania. Her family moved her to North Carolina at the age of 10. At the age of 14 her family moved again, this time back north, to a small state called Delaware. There she met a group of friends who changed her live forever. Art has always been her deepest passion, ever since she was a little girl. But she didn't fully delve into it until moving to Delaware and meeting this group. There were two girls who drew within this group. Their names are Sam and Liz. Their drawings, especially those of the young Liz-Chan, inspired Amber to improve upon her own, currently pathetic, drawings.  She tried many different styles before developing one which worked for her, and she is still improving with every image she creates. Her favorite media is graphite, but she also greatly enjoys the things she can do in Adobe Photoshop. The self portrait shown above was drawn by hand on paper, then scanned and colored in Photoshop. She also enjoys writing. When Amber was 15 she had a Native American boyfriend named Kieahalan Kalantu, meaning True Snow Guardian of Earth. He gave Amber a name in his language, Kankaru Kalantu, meaning Holder of the Stars Guardian of Earth. When Kieahalan was killed about a year later she kept this name and uses it in her art. In most of her drawings you will see this name for the signature instead of Amber Kline. She is currently working on a fantasy novel, using the name Kieahalan gave her for the main character.  She has many poems from the time after Kieahalan was killed, and a few short stories. She also sings, dances, and alters clothing.
Amber is currently living in Texas with her finance, Mitchel (Kieahtoka meaning True Moon for his Native Name). She moved there to live with him and his family when she turned 18, and has been living there happily since. But she can't wait to get back north to the cold where she belongs.

Kankaru Arts has been a dream Amber has had since she was 16. She wants to show people what she is capable of artistically, as well as help other artists make a name for themselves. She also wishes to help people bring more creativity into their lives, and inspire more artists to go for what they believe in. Another thing she wishes to do with this company is to inspire women to take control of their own lives. She wishes to help continue to prove that women can do it to. She has many dreams for this company, which is why she gave it her Native name, Holder of the Stars. Because if you believe in yourself and what you are capable of, then you can hold the stars, and that is the biggest thing she is trying to show people.
